Call for Papers
AVSS is the IEEE conference series on video and signal based surveillance. AVSS was started in 1998 (Genoa, Italy). Following meetings were held in 2001 (Kingston, UK), in 2003 (Miami, USA), in 2005 (Como, Italy), in 2006 (Sydney, Australia), in 2007 (London, UK), in 2008 (Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA), in 2009 (Genoa, Italy) and in 2010 (Boston, USA). AVSS 2011 will be held in Klagenfurt from 30 August - 2 September 2011. AVSS is a forum of reference for the field and offers the opportunity to meet and foster collaboration. AVSS has a tradition of participation from the worlds of research, industry, and relevant government agencies. AVSS welcomes contributions in the following areas: a) security and safety, b) smart and simulated environments, c) multi- dimensional signal processing d) reactive sensor networks and multimedia, e) pattern recognition, computer vision, and machine learning, f) multi-sensor data fusion and architectures, g) systems, and it also gives unique emphasis to cross-disciplinary and visionary papers. The Conference focuses on underlying theory, methods, systems, and application areas.
The list of topics of interest includes, but is not limited to:
| A1 - Video analytics B1 - Ambient intelligence C1 - Video and multidim. signal processing D1 - Multimodal signal processing in surveillance networks | D4 - Multi-sensor coordination and control in surveillance networks E1 - Background/Foreground segmentation F1- Sensors G1- Advanced industrial, military and civilian systems |
Paper Submission and Proceedings Publication
Full length-papers up to 6 pages in length are solicited. Detailed submission instructions will be posted on the conference website in due time. Each submission will be double-blindly peer-reviewed in full length by at least two experts. The conference proceedings will be published by the IEEE Computer Society. Further details will be announced soon.
